Ladislav Sutnar. Žijeme, nº 3+2 (1932)
“Sutnar redoubled his progressive methods for the magazine Žijeme: Obrázkový Magazín Dnešní Doby (For Life: An Illustrated Magazine of Modern Times), one of the most popular monthly Czech magazines of the Thirties. For each issue he created a photomontage that suggested, rather than literally illustrated, themes relating to modern life. While these covers formally refer to earlier covers by Rodchenko for Novy Lef and other journals, Sutnar's signature typofoto compositions are distinctively his own.”
