“Beginning in January 1982, domus increased the number of pages in each issue, and shifted its focus to interiors. This initiated the cycle of covers of 'interiors with figure', created by Studio Alchimia and Occhiomagico. As Mendini himself reflected: "From now on we shall be trying to show that inside houses there are people with their problems...Let us try to imagine the interiors of our houses in the future." The editor began with the interior of his own house in Milan, designed in the 1930s by Piero Portaluppi.”
