Karel Teige. Dášeňka / Karel Čapek. Fr. Borový, 1934
“With the cut-back in the publishing activities of Odeon, Teige devoted himself to books published mainly by František Borový Publishing House, to which the most important Czech writers Karel Čapek and Vitezlav Nezval transferred at the beginning of the 1930s. Teige got the chance to design one of the most celebrated titles Dášeňka by Karel Čapek, which was to go through fifteen editions up to 1948. In Dášeňka, a book for children, he showed that functionalist photomontage techniques could be made comprehensible not just for the widest public, but for every age group .”
