Wim Crouwel. Lucht kunst. Amsterdam: Stedelijk Museum, 1971

“The actual idea that I worked out here was just letting the letters melt together. Each word has become a single block, in which the negative spaces suddenly become very important (...) Then I began rounding off the shapes, pushing them together, and finally I only drew the outside contour, to emphasize the idea of a text being blown full of air (...) The catalogue really shows the works themselves, and for me, that was reason enough to put one on the cover. I liked it, the word and image together, so you could see where it had come from.”
