“At this time she began designing her set of patterned papers for the Curwen Press, a type of work still associated with her name. Over a dozen of these, with variants, were printed between 1946 and 1951. Most typical, neat, nice and precise, are 'Allegro' (December, 1947) in assorted colourways and 'Treasure' with its similarly alternating fleuron-type motifs. Very popular, these were used by Hamish Hamilton for the covers of some of their attractive 'Novel Library' series, for which she designed the logogram on the spines.”
