Max Bill. Max Bill : Ausstellung im Kunstmuseum Winterthur, 3. April-22. Mai 1960. Winterthur: Kunstmuseum Winterthur, 1960
“In 1960 a retrospective exhibition of Max Bill (1908-1994) was shown in Winterthur, the Swiss town where the artist was born and grew up. Bill also designed this catalogue for the exhibition.
The cover title is quite tiny which makes it difficult to read through the semi-transparent cellophane dustjacket. Interestingly, Bill did not use a sans-serif but Garamond – all lowercase (as usual with Max Bill) in a flush-left, ragged-right layout with asymmetric page numbers. There is a nice contrast between text pages on a rough, grey paper and reproductions on white coated paper.”
