Typographische Monatsblätter, nº 4, 1972
“When Jan Tschichold died in August 1974, a number of key documents about his life and work had either recently published or were in the process of publication. The first of these had appeared in 1972, on his seventieth birthday, when the Typographische Monatsblätter published a special number on him, with an essay appraising his life and work, which was signed with the name ‘Reminiscor’. As was almost obvious -though several passages of strong praise for the subject must have given its early readers some doubt about this- the piece had been written by Tschichold himself. This essay was accompanied by an extensive showing of his work in reproduction, and a full bibliography.”
